Ağıl fəlsəfəsi

Ağıl fəlsəfəsi — mövzusu ağlın təbiəti, o cümlədən ağlın fiziki reallıq ilə nisbəti olan fəlsəfi fənn.

Beynin frenoloji xəritələşdirilməsi - frenologiya zehni funksiyaları beynin müəyyən hissələri ilə əlaqələndirmək üçün ilk cəhdlərdən biri idi, halbuki indi böyük ölçüdə nüfuzdan düşmüşdür.

XIX əsrdə Artur Şopenhauer ağlı «Kainatın əngəli» adlandırmış, onun insan biliyinin ən qaranlıq hissəsi olduğunu vurğulamışdır. Ağıl fəlsəfəsi XX əsrdə ən populyar mövzulardan birinə çevrilmişdir. Bu mövzu haqqında hər il çoxlu ədəbiyyat nümunələri nəşr olunurdu. Müasir ABŞ filosofu Riçard Rorti bildirmişdir ki, təfəkkür fəlsəfəsi indiki dövrdə əlverişli olan tək fəlsəfi fənndir.

Ağıl fəlsəfəsi antik dövrə qədər gedib çıxır. Platon və Aristotel dualizmin ilk mütəfəkkirlərindəndir, çünki onlar düşünürdülər ki, ağıl materiyadan ayrı bir ontoloji reallıqdır. Monizm ənənəsinin kökündə başqa bir qədim yunan filosofu olan Parmenid dayanır. O, iddia edirdi ki, varlıq və ağıl birdir. Dualizm Qərb fəlsəfəsinə 17-ci əsrdə Rene Dekart sayəsində daxil oldu. Dekart kimi substansiya dualistləri ağılın müstəqil mövcud olan substansiya olduğunu iddia edirdilər, xüsusiyyət dualistləri isə ağılın beyində üzə çıxan və beyinə reduksiya edilə bilməyən bir sıra müstəqil xüsusiyyətlər olduğunu, ancaq ayrı bir substansiya olmadığını müdafiə edirlər. Spinoza, Lokk və Yum kimi modern dövrün filosoflarının toxunduğu ən əhəmiyyətli mövzulardan birinə çevrilir.
