Etimologiyası
Naan sözü ingilis dilinə 1810-cu ilde Villiyam Tokko gətirib. Fars dilində “nan” çörək deməkdir. İllər ərzində Orta və Mərkəzi Asiyada nan sözü müxtəlif mənalar bildirmiş və sonda düz yeni lavaşçörək naan adlandırılmışdır. 1978-cu ildə ilk dəfə naan öz mənasını tapmış və ingilis dilinə daxil olmuşdur.
