Elmi biliyin sosiologiyası (ing. Sociology of scientific knowledge) — elmi biliklərin meydana gəlməsi, yayılması və qəbul edilməsinin sosial amillərlə necə əlaqəli olduğunu araşdıran sosioloji yanaşma. Bu sahə elmi nəzəriyyələrin yalnız daxili məntiq və empirik sübutlarla deyil, eyni zamanda sosial, mədəni və institusional kontekstlərlə formalaşdığını iddia edir.
Tarixi
Elmi biliyin sosiologiyası XX əsrin ikinci yarısında elmi biliklərin təkcə obyektiv və neytral proses deyil, sosial mühitin məhsulu olduğunu iddia edən yanaşmaların inkişafı ilə formalaşmışdır. Bu sahənin əsasını qoyanlardan biri Robert Merton olmuşdur. O, elmin institusional prinsiplərini — universallıq, kommunalizm, qərəzsizlik və təşkil edilmiş skeptisizm kimi təsnif etmişdir.
1970–1980-ci illərdə isə SSK sahəsində daha radikal yanaşmalar meydana çıxdı. Xüsusilə (Barri Barns, Devid Blur və digərləri) (“Strong Programme”) ilə bütün elmi biliklərin — istər doğru, istərsə də yanlış hesab olunan — eyni sosioloji prinsiplərlə izah olunmalı olduğunu irəli sürdülər.
Nəzəri yanaşmalar
Devid Blur tərəfindən formalaşdırılmış bu yanaşma elmi biliyin sosial səbəblərlə izah edilə biləcəyini və bu izahın həm “doğru”, həm də “səhv” hesab edilən biliklərə eyni dərəcədə tətbiq edilməli olduğunu iddia edir. Bu yanaşma səbəblərin simmetriyası, səbəblərin sosial olması və empirik təhlil prinsiplərinə əsaslanır. Bruno Latur, və kimi tədqiqatçılar elmi biliklərin laboratoriyalarda necə istehsal edildiyini etnoqrafik metodlarla araşdırmışlar. Onlar elmi faktların sosial qarşılıqlı təsirlər və texniki vasitələrin birgə fəaliyyəti nəticəsində “qurulduğunu” göstərmişlər. SSK həmçinin elmi təşkilatların, maliyyələşdirmə mexanizmlərinin və siyasət qurumlarının elmin istiqamətini necə formalaşdırdığını təhlil edir. Bu, elm siyasəti və ictimai elmi kommunikasiya sahələri ilə kəsişir.
Tənqidi
Elmi biliyin sosiologiyası xüsusilə analitik fəlsəfə, və bəzi pozitivist yanaşmalar tərəfindən tənqid olunur. Bu tənqidlər SSK-nın elmə münasibətdə relatiivizmə sürüklənməsi və obyektiv həqiqət anlayışını zəiflətməsi ilə bağlıdır.
