Vervet meymunu (və ya karlik yaşıl meymun, lat. Chlorocebus pygerythrus) — primatlar dəstəsinin meymunlar fəsiləsinə aid meymun növü. Əntərmeymunları cinsinin altı növündən biri. Meymunların "Efiopiya qrupu"na aiddir. bənzəyir, rənginə görə ondan fərqlənir: ayaqlarında tünd rəngli əlləri və arxa tərəfində quyruğunda qırmızı saçları var.

Taksonomiya
Vervet meymunları keçmişdə taksonomlar tərəfindən Cercopithecus aethiops (Efiopiya meymunları) kimi təsvir edilib. Vervet meymunu və malbruk (Chlorocebus cynosuros) çox vaxt bioloji növ və ya (Chlorocebus aethiops) cinsinin yarımnövü hesab olunurdu.
Hal-hazırda vervet meymunlarının beş alt növü var:
- Chlorocebus pygerythrus excubitor;
- Keniyanın cənubundan Chlorocebus pygerythrus hilgerti;
- Chlorocebus pygerythrus nesiotes;
- Cənubi Afrika,Botsvana, Lesoto və Esvatini Chlorocebus pygerythrus pygerythrus;
- Mozambik və Uqandadan olan Chlorocebus pygerythrus rufoviridis, quyruğunun altına doğru tündləşən, fərqli qırmızı kürəyinə malikdir.
Xarici əlamətləri
Vervet meymunun ağ saçaqlı qara üzü var, ümumi bədən rəngi isə əsasən açıq-bozdur. Bütün alt növlərin erkəkləri mavi xaya və qırmızı penisi ilə tanınır. Bu növ cinsi dimorfizm nümayiş etdirir, kişilərin çəkisi və bədən uzunluğu daha böyükdür. Yetkin kişilərin çəkisi 3,9 ilə 8 kq (orta hesabla 5,5 kq) və bədən uzunluğu 420 ilə 600 mm arasında, başın yuxarı hissəsindən quyruğun altına qədər orta hesabla 490 mm-dir. Yetkin dişilərin çəkisi 3,4 ilə 5,3 kq (orta hesabla 4,1 kq) və 300 ilə 495 mm (orta hesabla 426 mm) arasındadır.
Həyat tərzi
Vervet meymunları 72 fərddən ibarət qruplar halında yaşayan gündəlik və sürü meymunlarıdır. Qruplarda fərdlər arasında açıq-aydın hökmranlıq və tabeçilik iyerarxiyası mövcuddur.
Qidalanması
Vervet meymunun qida rasyonuna müxtəlif meyvələr, əncirlər, yarpaqlar, toxumlar və çiçəklər daxildir. Onlar həmçinin quş yumurtaları və cücələri, həşəratları (çəyirtkə və termitlər) yeyirlər. İnsan yaşayış yerlərində onlar çörək və müxtəlif taxıl bitkiləri, xüsusən də qarğıdalı ilə də qidalanırlar.
