Bu ulduz Günəşdən 2 Günəş kütləsi dəfə və 9 Günəş radiusu dəfə böyükdür. Bir dəfə baş ardıcıllıq ulduzu olub, sonra isə Polluksun nüvəsindəki hidrogen tükənir və K0 III spektral sinifli nəhəng ulduz kimi inkişaf edir. Ulduzun xarici təbəqəsində effektiv temperatur 4666K-dir. Polluks 2.8 km/s fırlanma sürətinə malikdir.

Pollux (β Gem, β Geminorum, Beta Geminorum) ulduzunun görünən ulduz ölçüsü +1,15-dir. Pollux, qonşusu Kastor (Alfa Geminorum) dan daha parlaqdır. 2006-ci ildə, Pollux'un orbitində bir planetin varlığı təsdiqləndi.
