II Vasili Vulqarokton

II Vasili Vulqarokton (yun. Βασίλειος B' Βουλγαροκτόνος; 958, Konstantinopol – 15 dekabr 1025, Konstantinopol) — Makedonlar sülaləsindən olan Bizans imperatoru, imperator II Romanın oğlu və I İohann Simiskinin varisi. O, VIII Konstantin ilə həmimperator olmuşdur. II Vasili imperiyanı çoxsaylı rəqiblərdən qorumaq üçün aparmağa məcbur olduğu müharibələrlə tanınır. O, imperator III Ottona, Beneventonun lanqobard hersoqlarına və slavyanlara, xüsusən də bulqarlara qarşı mübarizə aparmışdır. Sonunculara qarşı müharibə hər iki tərəfin vəhşilikləri ilə müşayiət olunurdu.

Həyatı

Vasili Kiçik Asiyada feodal aristokratiyasının iki üsyanını, Sklir və Varda Fokanın üsyanlarını yatırtmışdır. Bundan sonra onun daxili siyasətinin əsas vəzifəsi kəndli torpaq mülkiyyətini gücləndirmək idi. Bu, bir tərəfdən, fərdi terror, böyük zadəganların həbsi və onların torpaqlarının müsadirə edilməsi, digər tərəfdən isə kəndli mülkədarlığının müdafiəsi ilə bağlı qanunvericiliklə əldə edilmişdir. Vasilinin hakimiyyəti Bizansın ən yüksək çiçəklənmə mərhələsini, dövlətin Aralıq dənizi və Yaxın Şərq ticarətində üstünlük təşkil etdiyi dövrü təşkil edir.
