Gamma Canis Majoris, B8II üfüqi bir təsnifatı və +4.11 görünən bir böyüklüklə mavi-ağ B tipli parlaq nəhəngdir. Yerdən təxminən 440 işıq ili uzaqlıqdadlr. Anormal civə və maqnezium xəttlərini göstərən xarakterik bir Hg-Mg ulduzudur. Bu ulduzun Günəşin radiusunun 5,6 dəfə olması və xarici atmosferin effektiv temperaturu 13,596 K var.
Bu ulduz spektroskopik ikili sistem olmağından şübhələlinir və 0.332 "bir 114,8 ° mövqeyə bərabər yanaşma ilə bir namizəd yoldaşı var. Collinder 121 açıq klasterinin üzvüdür.
