Xidmət sahəsi termini — müştərilərə xidmət göstərən və ya onların ehtiyaclarını qarşılayan sahələri ifadə edir. Xidmət sektoru bütün növ kommersiya və qeyri-kommersiya xidmətlərini özündə birləşdirən iqtisadiyyatın bir hissəsidir: müəssisələr, təşkilatlar, habelə fiziki şəxslər tərəfindən göstərilən müxtəlif növ xidmətlərin təkrar istehsalını özündə birləşdirən ümumiləşdirilmiş kateqoriya. İqtisadiyyatın qalan hissələri istehsal — sənaye və kənd təsərrüfatı hesab olunur.
