Kavkas (ing. Caucas) — Qafqaz salnamələrinə görə Qafqaz və ya Kavkasos (gürcü: კავკასოსი Kavḳasosi) adlanır. Bunların Çeçenlərin və İnquşların atası olduğu iddia edildi. Onun hekayəsi XI əsrdə Leonti Mroveli tərəfindən şifahi ənənədən götürülmüş orta əsr gürcü salnamələri "Kartlis tsxovreba" toplusunda izah edilmişdir.
