Русский: Издан картографическом заведением Алексе́я Афиноге́новича Ильи́на (примечание: Гравировал карту А. Юргенс. В левом нижнем углу карты показана таблица с народностями, населяющими Кубань и Кавказ.) в Санкт-Петербурге, а потом перепечатан на немецком языке в престижном журнале «Географические записки Петерманна» («Petermanns Geographische Mitteilungen, 26. Band, im jahre 1880, seiten 364»). Данные о население Кавказского Края являются официальными и относятся в основном к камеральным описаниям 1873-1876 гг. Камеральные описание проводились: в Ставропольской, Кутаисской, Тифлисской, Эриванской, Елизаветпольской, Бакинской губерниях и Закатальском округе 1873-ем году; в Терской области, Черноморском округе и Сухумском отдьле 1874-ом году; в Дагестанской области 1873-1875 гг.; в Кубанской области 1876-ом году. Примичание: Карсская область учреждена 1 ноября 1877 г. (приказ по Кавказской армии и Кавказскому военному округу от 1 ноября 1877 г. за № 409), а Батумская область 1878 г. Указом Александра II, оба на территории, отошедшей от Османской империи (завоеванные: Батумский санджак Трабзонского вилайета >> переделано в Батумскую область, Карсский и Чалдырский санджаки Эрзурумского вилайета >> объединено и переделано в Карсскую область) к России по результатам русско-турецкой войны 1877 – 1878 гг. согласно Берлинскому трактату.
