Farslaşmış cəmiyyət

Farslaşmış cəmiyyət (ing. Persianate) — fars dili və ədəbiyyatı, İran mədəniyyəti, incəsənəti və/yaxud kimliyinə əsaslanan və ya ondan güclü şəkildə təsirlənən cəmiyyət.

"Persianate" termini Marşall Qudvin Simms Hocson tərəfindən yaradılmış bir neologizmdir. O, 1974-cü ildə yazdığı "The Venture of Islam: The expansion of Islam in the Middle Periods" kitabında bunu belə müəyyənləşdirmişdir: "Fars dilinin yüksəlişi sırf ədəbi nəticələrdən daha çox idi: Bu, islam dünyasında yeni ümumi mədəni oriyentasiya daşımağa xidmət etmişdir…. Müsəlmanlar arasında sonradan yaranan yüksək mədəniyyətə malik daha çox yerli dillərin əksəriyyəti… əsas ədəbi ilhamları üçün tamamilə və ya qismən fars dilindən asılı qalmışdı. Biz fars dilində daşınan və ya farscadan alınmış ilhamı əks etdirən bütün bu mədəni ənənələri genişləndirməklə "Persianate" adlandıra bilərik".

Termin etnik farsları, həm də əsasən etnik cəhətdən qeyri-fars olan, lakin linqvistik, maddi və ya bədii mədəni fəaliyyətləri fars mədəniyyətindən təsirlənmiş və ya ona əsaslanmış cəmiyyətləri nəzərdə tutur. XIX əsrdən əvvəlki farslaşmış cəmiyyətlərə misal olaraq Səlcuqilər, Teymurilər, Moğollar, və Osmanlı sülalələrini göstərmək olar.
