Biosensor — bioloji analizlərdə istifadə olunan və canlı orqanizmlərdən əldə edilən məlumatların təhlilini aparan cihazlar. Biosensorlar müxtəlif bioloji, kimyəvi və fiziki reaksiyaları ölçərək, bu reaksiyaların nəticələrini rəqəmsal və ya vizual formada təqdim edir.

Biosensorların inkişafı 1955-1960-cı illər arasında başlamışdır. İlk biosensor 1962-ci ildə qlükozanı ölçmək üçün yaradılmış və sonradan qlükoza sensoru kimi geniş yayılmışdır. Bu dövr biotexnologiya və mikroelektronikanın inkişafı ilə sıx bağlıdır.
