Art Brut

Xam sənət — Kənar sənət öz-özünə öyrədilmiş və ya sadəlövh sənət ustaları tərəfindən sənətdir. Tipik olaraq, kənar sənətkarlar kimi etiketlənənlərin əsas sənət dünyası və ya sənət qurumları ilə əlaqəsi azdır. Çox hallarda, işləri yalnız ölümlərindən sonra aşkarlanır. Çox vaxt kənar sənət həddindən artıq zehni vəziyyətləri, qeyri-ənənəvi fikirləri və ya inkişaf etdirilmiş fantaziya dünyalarını təsvir edir. Art Brut

Fransızca bir termin olan "art brut"un mənası "xam sənət" deməkdir. "Art brut" professional olmayan, özlüyündən yaranmış bir sənətdir.

1948-ci ildə Dübüffet, Breton və Tapiye "art brut"u qurdular. Bu sənətin məqsədi; özü özünü yetişdirənlərin, məşhur olmayanların, məhbusların və ruhi xəstələrin məhsullarını ortaya çıxarmaq idi. Jan Dübüffetin üzərində çalışdığı işlərdən bir "art brut" kolleksiyası yaradıldı.
